Our Response to COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted upon almost every industry including real estate. State and Federal Governments have introduced necessary restrictions to stop the spread of the virus. But the property market continues to operate, with the safety and health of all persons involved the paramount concern.

Property sales will continue as agents and the rest of the market have adapted to the new restrictions and at times lockdown.  Virtual tours of homes, private inspections and online auctions are becoming the new norm of operation. As always, Vendors can still sell via private treaty. We are still open for business and we have plenty of buyers very active in the market, so it is an optimum time to list your property.

Inspections

Due to the current restrictions on open homes we can still show property via private appointments on a one on one basis – 1 agent and 1 client.   At the time of booking private appointments, we will check that the buyer hasn’t been in a recent hot spot or from a restricted LGA.  Throughout the inspection all buyers are required to wear a face mask and hand sanitiser will be provided.  They will be asked to refrain from touching surfaces in the property. We will also of course, avoid shaking hands, wash our hands thoroughly after each inspection and will meet all Government guidelines at any present moment.

Auctions

Auctions are now being done online using the preferred portal AuctionNow.  Vendors and registered bidders can now connect via any device anywhere in the world and watch the auction. In addition, to live streaming, AuctionNow can also be used for electronic bidding authorities, electronic reserve letters and digital exchange of contracts.

Appraisals

We can continue providing sale and leasing property appraisals via private appointments on a one on one basis – 1 agent and 1 client or virtually.

Offices

Our offices are open to allow for key collection or handing over keys, contracts and essential services. All of our staff are available and will be working remotely as per the stay at home orders.  As always they will be answering their phones and responding to emails.

Property management services are active

In accordance with the latest government guidelines, we continue to collect rent, attend to maintenance, lease property, carry out in-goings and out-going inspections. If you have any questions or concerns about how this impacts your rental or investment property, please contact your Property Manager.

Settlements are scheduled to go ahead

Scheduled settlements for Vendors and Purchasers will continue. We will facilitate the hand-over of keys safely.

We put the health of our clients and staff above all whilst working hard to keep our service strong and help everyone through this unusual period in history.

Chadwick will continue to adhere to key health guidelines:

  • Inspections of property by appointment with one person and an agent;
  • Ensuring physical distancing is maintained;
  • Promote good hygiene with face masks and hand sanitiser being made available;
  • Use of digital platforms where possible;
  • Keep detailed contact records of people attending open homes and auctions online;
  • Ensure people with any symptoms of illness do not attend a property inspection;
  • Manage the number of people entering small spaces;
